Had 9.00am appointment at eye clinic. Got the drops and X-ray straight away. Then waited 2.5 hours so went to nurse who said I was next on the list. Everyone else was called so went back to same nurse a hour later who said I was next but doctors have now gone for lunch. I took a day off my work so after over 3.5 hours waiting I left to go home. Absolutely disgraceful and I won’t accept sub standard service so will go private. No apology was given at any time either.

I’ve just had a day visit/procedures,colonoscopy and gastroscopy with good results. From the time I walked in to the time I left, I was looked after, treated very well and all my questions answered by the wonderful staff, nurses, doctor and volunteer nurses,a very enjoyable experience. The level of care was exceptional.

I had a bad experience as this is my first towards public healthcare system. Admittedly hospitals at 6:30am, Surgery started at 3:15pm. Awake on recovery at 6:40pm without my condition being stable the hospital putting me day admission. I have to request the doctor let me stay overnight. The Day Admissions is really nice Amber & Irene done a great job. Overall not a pleasant experience as I been waiting all day without food and been extremely exhausted. Rang today Fremantle to ask for a medical certificate as my employer needed. They transferred the call to almost every department that I have to wait about 20 mins.

The psychiatric department is horrendous. Care for family members of patients is 0, releasing patients into half way houses and not allowing them to leave generally is crazy I asked why? get no answers. Patients not given medication on release have to get it yourself from pharmacy. I had to ask for address of halfway house waited 20 minutes asked my concerns was ignored but it's ok for someone to get released acting violently leaving the hospital I mean where is the caredont bother going there

After having a cataract removal 8 weeks ago in my left eye I have had 2 cancelled follow up appointments rescheduled only to find out now that my right eye may not be done until end of January next year. I have been left with not being able to wear any kind of glasses due to them being multi focal and so blurred vision. I cannot drive my anywhere, relying on others to drive me everywhere when they are available so am therefore stuck at home doing absolutely nothing just about every day. Unable to read anything unless in large writing, unable to knit or sew which I do quite a lot, cannot see or do anything on my computer. Due to blurred vision am taking 4 or more Panadol each day because of headaches caused by this. I also cannot take on any casual work that I have been offered for some extra income because I need to be able to work on a computer or be able to read very small writing. The doctors and nurses have all been told this. I am so annoyed. You obviously have to be almost blind to get in earlier. At this rate for myself it will be almost 5 months between surgeries when I have heard and read that when cataracts in both eyes can be done within 2 weeks of each other Especially when multi focal glasses are worn. Can’t have multi focal only in one side as this makes the vision even worse. Even got told to get the cheap magnifying glasses for reading. These are absolutely useless when you need something in between the magnifying that they do. So I am left with headaches every day and not being able to do anything because I cannot focus on anything properly. This is not good enough.

Having had day surgery today, I was a little nervous going in...no need...the whole process from admission to post op and recovery was a breeze. I was informed all along the way of what was happening and how far along the queue I was.All staff were excellent, helpful and more than accommodating.....8 hours later I feel great!!!Thank you to all at Fremantle Hospital!

Having undergone day surgery with Dr. Watson-Jones as surgeon, I cannot recommend her enough. Her pre and post surgery care was fantastic, she was very professional and empathetic which made me confident I was receiving the best of care. The hospital of course is well due for a face lift, however all staff that were involved in my care from the ward clerks, nursing team and anaesthetists I could not fault and do an amazing job.

A huge thank you to Doctor Wiffen who did amazing surgery on my eye 8 weeks ago! Dr Wiffen takes you step by step through the process and will answer any questions or concerns you may have about the surgery so that you have full understanding of the surgery procedure and outcome. Dr Wiffen is so professional and extremely thorough with his surgery and I am so grateful of his experience and skill in what he did and now my sight is no longer blurry and distorted. Very thankful patient!

While the nursing staff and doctors where all quite good at their work and the care you actually receive is also good, that is simply where the good ends. The catering is either pre packaged foods, especially breakfast, nothing is prepared here. Lunch and dinner always seam to have the same frozen vegetables and powdered mashed potatoe, even with pasta. You would have to ask how they can burn tomatoe soup. There are no drink choices with any meals except breakfast, it's all water from there on. Clearly working with staff shortages when the cleaners are bringing you food. The porting staff have to be by far the worst, getting moved around in this hospital can only be described as dangerous. They don't, and in some cases can't communicate with you with themselves or with the nursing staff. They don't take instruction or follow procedures.I was transferred here from FSH, if someone suggests that you go here, fight that for your own well being.
