Love Rockingham Hospital usually. Great staff, nurses but admitted to 4 bed ward recently and never slept for 4 nights because of noise from staff chatting around talking loudly coming in taking patients to X-ray at midnight without trying to be quiet. Had one patient order takeout at 10pm. Refuse to dim lights until 10.30 because they were doing paperwork outside the door. Had two nights with psych male patient in with 3 elderly ladies. Screaming abuse all day and night. We felt very threatened. One family made sure a relative was present all day to protect her from any threat from him. He racially abused every nurse that sat near him. Mobile phones were ringing from 5am to 11 pm in the room by some patients. I think this is becoming a big issue nowadays. I think phones should be on silent at least. I don’t think I will be able to go back to Rockingham Hospital again.

We would like to say how much we appreciate Rockingham City Hospital, my husband is having treatment for cancer for the past 6 months, his Oncologist Dr Kondola is treating him and is doing everything for him to get the treatment he needs to make him well, yesterday May12th, My husband Raymond Lindley had a Colonoscopy , the 2 nurses who was caring for him ( Hayley and Duncan) made us both feel very special, they were amazing ,and very caring and friendly with smiles on their faces, they were very busy and rushed off their feet, as was all the staff, these 2 nurses I feel need to be recommended for their efforts they went over and above, and we believe that they are all underpaid for what they do.We just want to say a big Thank you to all the Doctors,Nurses, and staff for the way that they care, we cannot fault this hospital all, and it needs to be recommended.A very grateful couple Ray and Barbara Lindley

If allowed I would rate it negative!Bloody amazing how they have only one nurse in an Emergency ward! There were 3 people waiting in the queue for assessment and I was the fourth one!So technically I had to wait 35 minutes before I can get someone to assess me in an EMERGENCY WARD!!What kind of bloody emergency ward is this?Ohh and that nurse could not really think of a better time to start talking to her colleagues and giggle around? Horrendous!

Twice now my appointment has been cancelled from the hospital. Not good enough !! You moan if people cancel but when your team does it there is no sorry. I work night shifts and both times set my alarm to take my phone appointment. Honestly just don’t bother coming here unless you like being mucked around. I’ll get another referral to go to another hospital. Anywhere is better than this uncaring dump of a place.

My first time a Rockingham was close to my last. The surgeon cut through my bowel in several areas and then send me. By the following week I was in RP fighting for my life. The next on was a bowel blockage they send me for a high resolution scan. Did I say I am highly allergic iodine ? When they started hocking me up to the drip I ask what is in it. No prizes for guessing iodine. Next incident going for an iron infusion, told just go to the chemo day unit and they will do it. So that’s what I do but no off the ward clerk she tells me I just go to the chemo day unit butNo sent back and forwards for 2 hours. Get feed up ask to see complaints told no one in the office From complains take my phone out and ring them standing where I could see the desk and Yippy there is the complaint person. The latest one is arriving in an ambulance, very Ill and in a lot of pain. Never even saw any nursing staff the message was sent to me that I would be waiting out the from for a few hours and when I asked for pain relief told no I suffer with a condition the impact the pancreas, very painful tell them I might as well go home and come back later. The nurse who had never even spoke to me says. Great idea. Then makes a comment about drug seeking behaviour. The condition I have is usually based on too much alcohol but my is based a bad gallbladder , so as usual got the lecture about drinking Given I am close to 70 I almost found that funny. So arrogant, and so rude . I think that’s it for me. If I don’t stop now have a feeling one day they will manage to kill me . I can honestly say I have never had any interaction with this hospital where I came out better than I went it.

My advice to anyone attending this hospital, don't, avoid if you can. I had spinal surgery at Mounts Bay private 5 day's prior. Was worried about pain, and discharge from area. I phoned Mount's, who said, go straight to your local hospital. The waiting hour's was unbearable, and it was so quiet, only 3 people in waiting when I arrived, so I don't understand. I fought back my tears of pain. If you've had spinal surgery, you know, sitting and standing is for short periods, your main position is laying down for comfort, especially when you only had surgery 5 day's prior. The receptionist was one of the rudest people I've dealt with, but I held my tongue, I refuse to lower myself. After finally getting through, they contacted Mount's hospital, who put them through to my amazing surgeon, who told them to immediately blood test for infection, remove dressing, and clean area, then start me on a course of antibiotics. Once I got home, I broke down, the pain of sitting and standing had taken it's toll. I'm no religious person, but I pray I never have to see that hole of a place again.

Hospital - ⭐️Staff - ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Unfortunately ending up in hospital is rarely a part of a good day. Waiting times in Emergency Waiting Rooms are horrendous at the best of times.Today I came in with breathing difficulties, the ambulances were queued and the waiting room was about 80% full. I was triaged and sent for a RAT. Approx an hour later I had blood taken and an hour later again I went for X-Rays before being returned to the waiting room. During this time my observations were taken. Approximately 4.5 hours later, I was brought in to see a doctor who was both thorough and efficient. I was provided respiratory treatment and then required to wait for observation. My total time in the hospital was close to 8 hours. My Rating is split between the Excellent Staff members and the Poor waiting times due to limited staff and beds available.

Two days ago I was a public patient at the hospital for a day procedure relating to gastroenterology. With all the negative publicity lately relating to hospitals, staff shortages etc. I didn't quite know what to expect. The realty was I could not have received better treatment. The staff were friendly, caring and very attentive, from the nurses to the anaesthetist. Thanks to all, it was a really positive experience.

Went in with all the red flags of acute appendicitis. Hadn't been able to keep even ice down for 2 days. Went into the ER and was basically told it was probably just gastro and told to go home, without them even checking anything. Drove myself to peel health campus and was in surgery within 12 hours after a scan because my appendix was about to go. Good job Rocko.
